Ozark Apple Pudding– Tasty Kitchen Blog Post

ozark apple pudding | www.sprinklewithflour.com
I’m so excited to be able to contribute another recipe post to the Tasty Kitchen Blog. I’m sure most of you are already familiar with Tasty Kitchen, a great place to find delicious recipes within a wonderful community.

You can browse and submit recipes on their main website, and on their blog they feature different recipes each week.

When I came across a recipe for Ozark Apple Pudding, it immediately caught my eye – since I live in the Ozarks!  I’ve never heard of this dessert (shame on me), but it is so good I will be making this again. It is a rustic, hearty cake that is similar to an apple bread pudding – but better!

You can find the recipe and my complete Tasty Kitchen guest post here.

Enjoy!

Amber

I hopped over here from Tasty Kitchen. I LOVE your blog--so pretty, and your recipes look wonderful. I have some wonderful orchard apples--this recipe sounds just like something I'd LOVE. Thanks!

Also--I'm an Ozarks girl, myself! Howdy, neighbor. :-)

I found you through the Pioneer Woman website, and now you are bookmarked too! I can't wait to try this recipe-my apple tree is full of ripe apples. I really like seeing a recipe that is low fat, i.e. not using butter. Maybe a dollop of vanilla yogurt on top en lieu of cream? Thanks so much. Looking forward to trying some of your other recipes.

This is a vintage recipe for sure. An Ozark Pudding recipe was handed down to as a kid in 1977 by my great aunt who was in her 70's! She told me it is called pudding after the English word for dessert. It is what we would think of as a moist dense cake. I love this and make it every few years in her memory. My recipe varies slightly but basically the same. Thanks for sharing and reminding me it is time to make this again :-)
