Orange Creamsicle Cookies
February 7, 2012
Is there anything better than an ice-cold orange creamsicle on a hot, summer day? How about a warm, buttery, orange creamsicle COOKIE on a cold winter day? It truly is the best of both worlds. This cookie is not shy, with a full cup of butter in it, but that just makes it even better. Full of fresh orange zest and white chocolate chips, these beauties are definite comfort food…
…and that’s not extra padding on your rear, it’s extra comfort. That’s what I tell myself anyway. :)
(Yield: 2 dozen) Printable Recipe
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup unsalted butter, slightly softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg
Zest of 2 oranges
1 cup white chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cookie sheets with Silpats or parchment paper. In a large bowl, combine flour, soda, and salt. Stir together and set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add egg and beat until combined. Add flour mixture and beat on low speed until well incorporated. Add orange zest and beat to distribute. Stir in chips.
Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop in rounded spoonfuls on cookie sheets, leaving plenty of room between cookies to allow for some spreading. Bake for about 10 minutes until light golden brown. Cool about 1 minute on cookie sheets and then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Heck yes to creamsicle cookies! Want!
It's like you know me so well! That's my favorite ice cream on a stick combo.
Good thing I dropped by your site and saw this recipe. My kids will love this =)
Oh, my husband is gonna love you. Definitely making these, thank you!
I need a break from all the chips and sliders i did for the games last weekend...This is what I am in the mood for. Yummy cookies!
These look delish!
Mmm my cookie dream!
All my life I have loved creamsicles so when I spotted this cookie on Pinterest.com, I had to find out what it's all about!
With the zest of two oranges, these cookies must be orange-a-licious, indeed. Bet they make the house smell divine, too, as they bake in the oven.
ohhhh I'm in creamsicle heaven! Please tell me you deliver? :)
I made these last night and when I was gathering my ingredients I noticed that there is no vanilla extract listed in the recipe. I did add 2 teaspoons, but wondered if it was just an oversite in the recipe? They are delicious and the orange is just right.
You are right, there is no vanilla in this recipe and it tastes just fine without it. But I'm sure the addition of it would be just as good too!
These really sound delicious. I love to visit here.I never leave empty handed and always have something new to try. I hope you have a great day. Blessings...Mary
made these w/ my 3yr old tonight..they are delicious!i did add a packet of vanilla sugar as well as some v-extract cause im obsessed w anything vanilla :) wonder how they'd be w/ dark choc chips--which then of course no longer would make them creamsicle-y--but i love the dark choc/orange flavor combo--think of lindts orange excellence..the angels sing! lol
Easy, simple and affordable recipe. Another great ideas from you. Thank you dear.
